I suck at blogging. My apologies... I haven't had time to eat or sleep, let alone write! I'll try and catch you guys up on things.
As far as life in Denver, things are looking up. I have moved away from the spiders and centipedes who have been my roommates at Grandma's house and into a nice clean apartment with a girl I work with. As we speak, I have 3 more nights in Denver and then I am home!
I got an extra Invesco credential for Obama's speech, so my stepdad is flying out to come to it with me. The added bonus is that now he can share the driving with me on Friday, because I know I will be very sleepy Friday morning.
My last day off was about 2 1/2 weeks ago and for those days I haven't worked less than 12 hours a day. So I am exhausted!! But it has been really fun and I really can't complain.
My two big jobs that I have been working on have been hotel and ticket allotment. I've basically placed all donors in hotels and coordinated to make all the reservations. It was a huge process which was hindered by the idiots we had to work with. Yesterday alone, I had 7 missing reservations to deal with. It all works out though and you have to realize that there is only so much you can do and things will go wrong.
I got to go to the Convention last night and sit in a suite. It was a really amazing experience. I am a sponsor liaison so I take care of about 60 donors. One donor I have is this great executive from 3M who has been so gracious and has been giving me tickets to every event he is going to. Anywho, he came and hung in my suite with me and it was a really great experience. Got to hear Michelle Obama speak, which obviously was very cool.
The only downside of the night was that I had 2 very angry donors because they didn't pick up their credentials and that was somehow my fault. But you can't make everyone happy all the time, so whatever!
I can't believe I am leaving on Friday. I feel like I have been here 3 years or 3 mins, depending on the hour. Its been a crazy, lonely, amazing, humbling experience and I can't believe its practically over. Its hard working for so long and so hard on something and watching the actual 4 days you worked so hard to plan fly by.
I got a whopping 4 hours of sleep last night so I am not exactly coherent. I will write more later.

Sorry for the delay!
My internet hasn't been very reliable lately, so I haven't been able to post for a bit. It's slow at work right now, so I figure now is a good time to catch up.
Work hasn't been too crazy. It's weird; some days I will be so hectic that I'll look up and miraculously its 5 pm. Other days I spend a lot of the day bonding with CNN and BBC.
I had a great week last week because the Dodgers were in town! I bought myself so pretty great seats for the first game. I was 26 rows behind the Dodgers dugout and the Dodgers murdered the Rockies 16-10. I went the next day with my friend Jenna and her crew and we sat in the top tier, so I couldn't exactly see the game. Luckily, my friend David who works for the Dodgers was in town for the game as well, so he brought me down to their suite level. It was fun to be with some people from L.A. again. Ironically, the lady I sat next to actually lives down the street from my mom's house! David was amazing. He hooked me up with all the food and drinks I could stand. Halfway through the game, David told me that the only way he could go to the game the next day was if I went to. Naturally, I called work immediately and told them I wouldn't be coming in. I love my internship, but the Dodgers take first priority. I went out with the LA people after the game, which was very fun. It was nice to see some people from home, even if I'd only known them a few hours. The next day, David told me he was unable to make it to the game, but left me tickets for AMAZING seats! I was 6 rows back between home plate and the Dodgers dugout. It was an amazing experience, except for the Dodgers losing!
The rest of the week felt very long after that, but now I am looking forward to visiting my dad and stepmom in AZ this weekend.
That was my big excitement so far. My life pretty much consists of work and hanging out at the neighborhood bar because they play the Dodgers game for me. I've sadly made most of my friends in Denver at that bar. I like going there though because it's safe. I hang out with a bunch of 50 year old men who protect me from being talked to by random men. Everyone who works there knows me and appreciates the fact that I am a young, fun girl who comes in just to watch the game and not get blindingly drunk! It helps that Denver is the friendliest place in the world!
The rest of my weekends should be pretty fun. I am going to AZ this weekend, my friend from LA is coming in the following week, my stepmom is in town the following 2 weekends and then I head home. I like it out here, but I am ready for LA again.
A few exciting accomplishments so far:
1. I got a library card!
2. I secured a few letters of rec for law school and the Fulbright.
3. I wrote an initial proposal for my Fulbright Scholarship and submitted it to a few people in the Dodgers organization, so keep your fingers crossed!!!
4. I picked up a 2nd internship working for the Obama campaign in Denver! I am going to work with them after 5 during the week and on weekends. Should make me so busy I can't be homesick.
I have to get back to work and I can't really think of anything else to tell you guys. But I will try and be more responsible about posting in the future!

Weekend Trip to Boulder!

Hey guys-
This is going to be short because I am exhausted and I have a Sarah Silverman dvd I am dying to watch. Just wanted to let ya'll know that I spent the weekend in Boulder with one of my best friends from high school, who now lives there. It was so nice to see her and even nicer just to see a familiar face. I had a great time... I stayed until about 9pm because I didn't want to come back! When I got there yesterday she took me on a little hike. I've attached some pictures. She has pledged to make me do outdoorsy Colorado things so I guess I better dig out my sneakers and sunscreen! Enjoy the pics and I'll write more soon!

I am hooked up in Denver...finally!
Hey guys-
Sorry for the delay, but it took me 2 days (and 5 hours in AT&T) to get my Internet situation figured out. I am here in beautiful Denver after a brutal 15 hour drive, which I did in one sitting. But I made it! For those who don't know here is my situation: I am staying in my friend from high school's grandma's basement with no Internet and no TV. Luckily I discovered a way to tether my phone to my computer to get the Internet to run so I am wired up. Here is the rundown since I've been here:
8:30 pm LA time- I started driving to CO. I planned on stopping along the way, but that didn't happen.
4:30 AM LA time- the sun began to rise over the red rocks in Utah and I was re-energized and decided to drive through the night
11:45 am Denver time- Rolled up to Jeannine (my host)'s house, unpacked, went grocery shopping, found a bar that plays Dodger games, etc.
11:00 pm Denver time- finally got to bed.
Day 1 on the job- I'm not going to lie, it was pretty boring. I signed a confidentiality agreement, so I am pretty limited in what I can write ;) I was basically shadowing a girl so I just watched her play on Facebook and occasionally make a call. I thought I had made a very poor choice after today, but things got better. After work, I spent 2 and 1/2 hours in AT&T trying to hook up my Internet, which still didn't work. Then I went and watched the Dodgers WIN so everything was ok.
Day 2- Much better. I finally had my own computer and own phone so I was able to be very productive. My duties entail mainly contacting people who have e-mailed/phones with questions and helping them the best that I can. Kinda fun and not very challenging, which is nice. Everyone in the office is very, very nice. I really like 3 of them, one of whom is from CA. So its nice to have another foreigner along with me. Thursdays, which was today, we have free intern lunches where the office orders in food for us and we get to listen to someone speak. This week it was the CEO of the Host Committee who told us all about how Denver started their bid for the convention. It was incredibly inspiring to hear how this woman simply wanted the convention so badly that she pretty much single-handidly did all the work to get it here. She didn't even really have the efforts of the Mayor! She is a very incredible woman and I am very fortunate to get the chance to work with here. After work-Went BACK to the AT&T store to get a phone I could use as a modem for my computer. Great success! I know have a blackberry (so if you have a pin send it to me!)
Day 3- Today was so good that I didn't even notice that hours had passed until my stomach started crumbling 5 hours into my day. I had to call businesses and make sure we had the correct name for them to be printed in our publications. Looking at the wording of that task it seems really monotonous, but it was actually kind of fun. The people in Denver are so UNBELIEVABLY nice that it was actually a pleasure to talk to them. The day flew by and after work I went out with some co-workers for dinner and drinks. There is another girl from SC here and its fun to deal with all these people from all over. Half of them are from Denver and the other half are like me, just here to help! Unfortunately, while we were at dinner 2 of my co-workers (the 2 I was closest to) found out that they were fired because of an e-mail that they accidentally sent around the office (again, confidentiality agreement!) so that put a damper on the night. But then I went on a wild goose chase to find my bar that plays the Dodgers (I eventually found it with the help of my new friend Johnny the bartender). I got there just in time to see the Dodgers lose :( but I did make 2 new friends! This was my 2nd time there and both nights I hung out with this guy Mike who is about 40 with 2 kids, also from Philly, and the bartender Johnny, who is very nice and funny but a bit off color. Mike invited me to come flying with him (he is in training to be a flight instructor) but I had to politely decline because of my leaning toward motion sickness. But seeing as how we both are now regulars at the College Inn because of their hot wings and MLB extra innings package, I'm sure I'll see them around.
Coming up: Tomorrow I am going to Boulder to see my girlfriend from high school who lives up here now. I am very excited! We are going to go hiking and then go out around the town at night.
Also, the Dodgers are coming into town around the 21st I think, which should help me be less homesick :) I am going to go to two of the games- 1 in good seats, 1 in the "Rock Pile" where tix cost about 4 bucks.
That's it for now. Please comment back and let me know your thoughts/questions/etc.
